20/30 Plan Calls For Zip Line
Ziarco, at one council meeting, mentioned the possibility of purchasing the Utica Amusement Park property on Van Dyke, next door to the driving range property. No one discussed the liability or how much it would cost to maintain it and how many employees would be needed to help people on and off.
Again we ask should Sterling Heights government be in competition with the private sector? Barrymores on Hall Road is planning to put in a zip line at their establishment along with a rollercoaster. See Article below
Farmers Markets
We love Farmers Markets, but would like to interject the following:
Should the city be in competition with the private sector?
There are at least two privately owned vegetable stands in the city, both on the east side of Dequindre Road (Kathy’s Produce: http://bit.ly/1Kx02cQ)
Question: If the city is going to go into competition with the private sector then why don’t they hold it at Freedom Hill where it is easier to get in and out of the park and it doesn’t back up traffic at the roundabout by city hall?
ALERT
Farmers Market Opens in June – In August the following articles appear in the newspapers regarding contaminated food being sold at the Sterling Heights Farmers Market:
Officials warn products sold at Metro Detroit Farmer’s Markets may contain Botulism (Anyone who bought the affected products should dispose of them immediately, following special precautions)
Consumers urged to toss food products from local company (Locations where these products were sold – include Shelby Township, St. Clair Shores, Dodge Park, Sterling Heights and New Baltimore farmers markets.
To our knowledge our City Council or City Manager has not stated what they are doing about this or as to what liability the city may have in this matter.
